Details: An alert generated 1/13/21 for a copper action level exceedance did not appear to have been addressed and/or documented with a contact report, therefore this contact report dated 1/18/23 is intended to provide some context. At the time of the alert, an existing Bilateral Compliance Agreement (BCA) established 9/14/18 requiring corrosion control due to a previous copper action level exceedance required that two demonstration rounds of lead and copper tap sampling be completed by the end of 2020. Corrosion control treatment had been issued Final Approval on 1/7/20 (PR 158-2018) and two 6-month demonstration rounds were needed in 2020 prior to setting minimum water quality parameters. The results of the second demonstration round did not appear to be on-line when an email sent by Evan Hofeld to Sheldon Price with the City on 1/5/21 requested an update on this sampling. The 2nd round of tap sampling was completed on 12/9/20 for which the results were received 12/23/20 and the alert was generated 1/13/21 showing a copper action level exceedance of 0.14 mg/l. The BCA was closed out on 11/10/21 with the establishment of minimum water quality parameters for pH and alkalinity. The system remained on 6-month sampling through the end of 2022 due to some some soda ash dosing issues that have been resolved with the assistance of the SRF technical assistance circuit rider (see 4/4/22 contact report for Civil West). The City appears to have resolved the copper exceedances with the installation of corrosion control and no further action is required other than to continue to meet the required minimum water quality parameters.
