Details: | I let Jay know that WRD was going to send a letter soon requiring resolution of the water rights for the RV park, which they believe he does not have. We had spoken earlier about Jay wanting to drill a well, so I e-mailed him plan review information and provided one option of drilling a well equipped with a pitless adapter (I included links regarding pitless adapters) that will serve his house and the RV park, but recommended he work with Nikki Hendricks (WRD) to determine the water rights needed for that. Provided the well is adequately constructed and free of contaminants (coliform bacteria, arsenic and nitrates), the well water would serve your house (untreated) and the RV park (could be treated or may not need any treatment, either way, the existing pressure tank could possibly be used). The other homes served off of the mill creek source and the other source to the south of the RV park would need to address water rights and potentially drill wells with regulation by DWS if there are 4 or more homes or 10 or more people served for more than 60 days out of the year for each source connection. As requested, I e-mailed plan review information needed for new wells as follows: There is a good water well owner’s handbook online at: https://www.oregon.gov/owrd/WRDPublications1/Well_Water_Handbook.pdf Info about pitless adapters (mentioned below): https://www.watersystemscouncil.org/download/wellcare_information_sheets/component_information_sheets/7248957Your_Pitless_Adapter_507.pdf There are 3 main letters that will be issued by me during the plan review process, which I described in the e-mail and provided a link to the well plan review instructions:https://www.oregon.gov/oha/PH/HEALTHYENVIRONMENTS/DRINKINGWATER/PLANREVIEW/Documents/PR-NewWells.pdf#page=1. I forwarded this information to Jay again on 11/8/22. |
