Details: | On 3/9/23, a citizen reported to us that a green water tank off Robinette Road near Pittsburg Road had appeared to have something was broken and water was flowing out of it. Citizen said his wife was dropping their son off at school around 8:25am when she saw that. Citizen then went up there around 9-9:15am and saw the water still flowing out of the Reservoir. Then at 11:20am everyone was gone, and water had stopped flowing at that point according to the citizen. Given the location, I thought it might be McNulty Water PUD - which it was. I spoke with Robert Trotter who confirmed this. Trotter says their water system’s communication system was working normally except for at the Robinette Reservoir where the malfunction occurred; the Reservoir tank overflowed, resulting in the water flowing out of it. The booster pumps started filling up the tank last night, and were intended to be shut off at a certain water level. According to Trotter, the engineers are working on it to figure out why the cellular communications were not working at Robinette Reservoir, but were working at the other system components. Robert said that the booster pumps have been shut off so that that Reservoir would stop filling. |
