| Details: | Background/Problem Identification: Ty Crosby at the Bob Belloni Ranch reached out requesting assistance with ongoing issues with their sedimentation process. Assistance Provided: The circuit rider discussed the issue with both Ty Crosby and David Funderburk, the system’s DRC. The surface water intake system has not been able to slow down the raw water to avoid stirring up sediment in the intake well and to aid in flocculation/sedimentation in the flocculation chamber in the treatment building. As a consequence of this, the existing media filters are constantly clogging prematurely. It was decided that a membrane style filter may be a better treatment technology than the existing Kinetico media filter. The system has begun the process to replace the Kinetico with a membrane based filtration system. Follow-Up Actions Needed: The circuit rider can provide further follow-up assistance if needed. |
