| Details: | I contacted Don about the November HAA5 sample that was over the MCL of 0.060 mg/L. Compliance is based on a location running annual average (LRAA), not an individual quarterly result. The LRAA for HAA5 appears to be 0.040 mg/L which is under the MCL so it is not a violation and public notice is not required. Also, the Operational Evaluation Level (OEL) for HAA5 was 0.055 mg/L which did not exceed the MCL either so no need to do an operational evaluation. I advised Don to continue taking steps to lower disinfection byproduct levels, especially in the winter, and offered up the services of our circuit rider to help identify ways to do so. | ||
