| Details: | A monitoring violation was issued for not sampling alkalinity every 14 days at the entry point in the month of April. David Hancock e-mailed on 5/3/23 and he and later spoke about a sampling error for alkalinity (April was their first month of compliance monitoring for alkalinity) in which they inadvertently sampled alkalinity from the source rather than entry point, resulting in the monitoring violation. After consultation with our compliance officer (Chuck Michael) on the matter I e-mailed David on 5/4/23 to let him know that they did not need to report the source alkalinity sample, which was below the minimum alkalinity of 40 mg/l since it was sampled prior to corrosion control treatment, but that they would be receiving a monitoring violation. They were previously made aware of the 14-day sampling interval (as opposed to just every two weeks) and the need to continue daily sampling when they drop below the minimums to demonstrate the problem has been corrected. | ||
