Details: | Samples taken on June 14, 2023 showed higher readings after the RO treatment than at the source of the well where there is no RO treatment. It was decided that the RO filter should be changed and may be the reason for the higher results after the treatment. The RO filter was replaced on June 26, 2023. A sample was taken after RO treatment on June 28, 2023. The arsenic level was above the MCL at 0.012. The operator had plans to contact the RO treatment company to discuss the concerns but was not able to get ahold of someone. After further discussion the RO system is just one filter, there is not a multiple stage filtration process or a RO storage tank. The current system is not working as distribution samples for arsenic that were taken in June (0.012, 0.009, and 0.011), the average is over the MCL. As a result, a Tier 2 notice will need to be filled out and posted in conspicuous locations. The operator is looking into purchase of a new RO system and will keep me posted as to the progress of that. A sample will be taken after the new RO system is installed. Bottled water is being provided to employees. | ||
