Assistance Type: | OTHER REGULATORY - Status update for approval of annexation to Harbor Water | ||
Details: | Herman stated that Harbor Water will officially take over once the process is voted on by the Harbor community. It has been added to the March 2019 ballot. Herman is already doing all the oversight - ensuring that monthly coliform samples are collected and reported to DWS in time. Next steps DMCE office will update the contact for Pelican Bay Heights in the database to be Herman Bloemsma at Harbor Water PUD. Once Pelican Bay Heights annexation to Harbor Waters PUD is final, there will be no changes to Harbor PUD'S entry point chemical monitoring schedule. However, regarding their coliform sampling schedule, Herman will consider adding at least one routine coliform sampling location at Pelican Bay Heights. Other types of distribution sampling that will need further evaluation are: Lead and copper - Harbor could look at the EPA Tier levels to see where Pelican Bay fits in – Jan Amblin has all that info on their construction dates and line materials, etc. DBPs - consider evaluating if the Pelican Bay area have more residence/holding time for the Harbor water than Harbor’s current DBP sampling location, at 15760 Upper Benham. Asbestos - Pelican Bay Heights doesn’t have any asbestos water lines, so no changes there. |
