| Details: | We received a complaint of low water pressure from Deer View Cooperative. I spoke with Glenda Mullenix who told me that demolition workers had accidentally cut into two water mains, but that there was positive pressure the whole time. The operator confirmed lower water pressure, though less than 20 psi was not confirmed. I forwarded 2 BMPs (Best Management Practices) guidance documents to Glenda via email: Service Outages Due to Reduced Pressure Events and Cutting Into or Repairing Existing Water Mains. Glenda said later that afternoon that both water mains were repaired. I told her that, although this isn't required, I am recommending that follow up coliform water samples are collected from distribution near both water mains; one sample upstream and one sample downstream of each of the 2 punctured water mains, i.e. a total of 4 coliform samples. This recommended set will indicate the water quality after the main repairs. |
