Details: | Background/Problem Identification: In a previous circuit rider support request Greg Miller from Eagle Creek Water System reached out to the circuit rider indicating that they are having problems with their well. It has had recent issues with failing bacteria tests and in the past 6 months the well has run dry several times. According to Greg the last time it was tested it went dry after pumping 21 gpm for 10 minutes. A well drilling company out and set the pump lower in the well but cannot lower the pump anymore. In this circuit rider support effort George Lei from Eagle Creek Water System reached out to the circuit rider indicating that other members of the water system were overly concerned with the condition of the well. George indicated that the only times the well had run dry were when the well was being “stress tested” and ran much faster than it would be during regular use. George requested that the circuit rider attend a video conference with the other HOA members to help restore their confidence in the well. Assistance Provided: The circuit rider spoke with George Lei at length about the issues plaguing their well. A video conference was attended by the circuit rider on 06/29/23. Based on the available information from George, Greg, and further consult with GSI Water Solutions, we believe the best course forward for Eagle Creek Water System is to have the well chlorinated by a reputable contractor, and then run the well normally (no stress testing or pumping dry) with adherence to water conservation measures. In the meantime, the water system should be looking to obtain funding to replace/rehabilitate the well should it actually fail during normal service. Follow-Up Actions Needed: The circuit rider can assist further as needed. Technical Reports to be Prepared and Expected Timeframe: N/A |
