| Details: | I received an email form Karl at Grand Ronde Community water. The emailed stated that waterlab said both routine coliform samples for September came back positive. He stated that he will re-sample Wednesday as soon as he get enough bottles. Received a phone call from Karl on 09/25/2023 at 01:44 pm and informed him that pursuant of OAR333-061-0078(2)(a), that having two or more total coliform positive samples in the same month at a water system with fewer than 40 samples per month will trigger a Level 1 investigation. I did inform the operator that a Level 2 will be generated since they had a Level 2 investigation investigation in December. I discussed with Karl that he will just need to take triggered samples ( at any source that is active during the time the TC+ sample was taken). Karl noted that all springs were active. I also discussed with Karl that we will need to schedule a Level 2 investigation. I also noted that the requirement for residual treatment will be reinstated. If the sanitary defect is corrected and it is believe to be the source of contamination, DWS can the revisit the requirement to install disinfection. In a follow up email on 09/26/2023 at 9:00, I mentioned that the circuit rider is available in evaluating the source of contamination. |
