Details: | I visited Valley of the Moon's water system with Dave Molony and his assistant. The water system is on a monthly "assessment" source sampling schedule, and they have been collecting samples monthly, however they have shown a chlorine residual, indicating that the tap would have been after chlorination rather than a raw source sample prior to treatment. Dave says that the lab they work with has been the one collecting the samples, and his assistant says he has seen the lab worker collect samples from a specific tap we located which appears to be after chlorination. We identified the other tap, labeled as a "raw water tap" and discussed that the monthly samples are to be collected there rather than distribution. We discussed questions Dave had about sample location specifics, and how the raw source samples are required in this case because the source was identified as susceptible to fecal contamination due to aquifer sensitivity or well construction issues, according to the Source Water Assessment and a DWS letter. We discussed how the number of samples are not required to increase since May, just the Monthly "assessment" sample tap location. The "routine" distribution samples are still on a Quarterly schedule. |
