Details: | Violation-Turbidity Standards Not Met (95% NTU) The SWTR for July shows 2 of 31 days when turbidity was above 1.5 NTU. That is 6.4% of the readings, so the system has received a 95% turbidity treatment technique violation and requires a public notice. Lillie reported that the reason for the high turbidity in July was possibly due to the Takelma Creek Restoration Project happening at the source. On several days in July (and ongoing in August) pipes were removed and replaced, resulting in water being turned off. There were several days after this corrective action, including the week of July 16 and 17 when our high turbidity readings occurred. The supply pipes were breached resulting in some small amounts of detritus making their way into the filter where they were captured. Once the water system was turned back on the filter flushed and cleaned and turbidity stabilized quickly. The system is now returned to compliance. There was no public occupancy, nor use of water from the system during this event. The Caretaker and Onsite Staff used system for flushing toilets only. Public notice posted. No further actions needed. |
