Assistance Type: | OTHER REGULATORY - increase in turbidity and color in water | ||

Details: | Operator contacted me to let me know about an increase in turbidity in water and color before it enters the WTP. Turbidity is due to the lowering of bodies of water that feed into Dexter reservoir. Water system is pre-chlorinating and will be submitting extra coliform samples in addition to the routine samples to ensure the water continues to be safe and are also transparent to the community on what they are doing to protect public health. They have notified the community of the issues with color and turbidity. 11-27-23: Talked with water operator on 11-9, the court ordered draw down is supposed to last until 12/15 and then the Army Corp. Engineers will begin to refill the reservoir. At this time the plan is to repeat the draw down for 3 years in a row. |
