Background/Problem Identification:

Ron Westendorf of Bentwood Estates Water System recently had a coliform hit and Jeff Freund of Deschutes County Health recommended that Ron reach out to the Circuit Rider to get help with water quality and operations at his system.

Assistance Provided:

The circuit rider spoke to Ron at length about their water system and the recent positive test for total coliform. Several different methods for disinfection were also discussed with Ron, with sodium hypochlorite injection being the recommended solution from the circuit rider. In later communication, Ron confirmed that their three repeats and an additional routine sample all tested absent for total coliform.

Follow-Up Actions Needed:

The circuit rider will be able to assist further should the coliform issue worsen and the need for disinfection arises.
