| Details: | The quarterly nitrate test at this system had a result above half of the MCL. The MCL for nitrate is 10 mg/L, the result at the system was 7.1 mg/L. I contacted the system and we discussed their response. I was told that the system has a technician coming to inspect their nitrate reduction system. It was mentioned that the system uses salt, but that salt usage seemed lower than usual to the operator. It was also mentioned that the system will be "regenerated". I discussed the health concerns of nitrate exposure. I was notified that the employees have access to water from a bottled water service. I supplied a nitrate handout explaining health consequences, vulnerable populations, and important concentration associations. The system will continue to monitor nitrate on a quarterly basis. |
