| Details: | I contacted Mr. Lund and informed him of the positive repeat total coliform samples from 11/15/23. I instructed him to take 3 repeats; 1 at the same, 1 upstream, and 1 downstream, and a triggered sample at the well. He stated the system recently installed new piping and failed to disinfect. This should not affect contamination at the well unless there was a failure of backflow devices (double check at the wellhead). He also stated that he recently shocked the well and flushed pump-to-waste but may have introduced some chlorine into distribution. He stated residents were informed to flush their faucets, but further education is required to assure proper shock chlorination of the well and distribution is done properly. I have an appointment for the level 2 investigation on 11/27/23 and I will review shock protocol with Lund. |
