Details: | Water restrictions update 11.29.2023-John emailed me back informing me that the city is still under restriction per Ordinance 2022-04, but they are slowly making progress. The cities dredging permit had expired, which meant they had to start the process all over. Civil West Engineering has been working with the operator and the permit has been approved by DSL. John believes the approval from the Army Corps is still pending. He believes it’s at the DEQ level now and they are expecting to hear back from DEQ after 30 days. After they get the new permit, they will initiate the removal of 2,200 yards of sediment. This will have to go out to bid in a RFP, after the permit is issued. John thinks this will be sometime between July – October 31st. The new permit is also expected to have annual maintenance dredging built in. John also informed me that they are still working with civil west on the brick grant. They missed some important information in the first round, but they are in the process of modifying and updating the grant application. The system will be reapplying for all priority 1 work identified in the masterplan and some additional old and new high priority work at the Hubbard’s reservoir. Hubbard’s work is mainly pumps and controls replacement and dam rebuild / adding flow control. The system is also pursuing a secondary water source (Garrison Lake) and looking into using the old Deedy Street reservoir for raw water storage. With assistance of Civil West Engineering, the system is planning to collect samples at the Garrison Lake as soon as the councils approves the cost. |
