| Details: | I received an alert on 11/14/23 for a single HAA5 result of 0.060 mg/l from disinfection byproducts sampling conducted on 11/1/23 (the TTHM result was 0.0651 mg/l). I checked their sampling history and noted that this system has a history of high HAA5 results in the fall and although elevated, this is less than previous high results (e.g., HAA5 was 0.0865 mg/l in November 2022). DBP levels are typically lower throughout the remainder of the year. Since this did not result in an operational evaluation level (OEL) or locational running annual average (LRAA) exceedance and since they have cartridge filtration limiting their treatment options (e.g., they cannot increase coagulant dose), I did not initially contact the water system, however, I did send an e-mail to Brian Moore with a link to this contact report on 12/1/23 to let them know. No further action is required at this time. | ||
