| Details: | On 12/27/18 two samples were collected at Bowman's: the sample collected inside the home/child care showed the presence of total coliform and a source sample was collected showing the presence of E. coli. Mindy stated with the day care closed over the holiday she was not monitoring the chlorine daily and did not realize the chlorinator had failed. I told her that 5 [source] samples were required from the well ASAP and that it was customary to collect 3 repeat samples inside the home/child care. Also in the month of january 3 samples in the home/child care was customary. She said she would collect source samples, but debated the value of collecting repeat samples considering high confidence that perennial coliform results makes disinfection necessary. I advised letting a heavy chlorine dose rest in the well before flusing the lines to get the traditional chlorine level (1.0 mg/l) before collecting the temporary routine samples in January. I asked her to anticipate a letter from state drinking water regarding the importance of evaluating/sampling the water source carefully. | ||
