Details: | Casey Lyon talked with Anton (owner) Monday (12/11/2023) and let him know OHA can provide a grant to pay for a new well or reconstruct the existing well. Anton indicated he is basically still planning on closing the RV park. Anton said he didn’t want to drill a new well because he is concerned the new well wouldn’t produce as much water as his current well does. Anton said all the wells in that area only produce about 7 gpm and his current well produces ~35 GPM. Anton said he didn’t want to reconstruct his current well because that would require the current well to be turned off for several weeks. Casey told him the grant can pay for hauled water during reconstruction and he said he didn’t want to do that and was already moving forward with providing eviction notices and closing down the RV park. Casey also discussed the possibility of having other wells tested in the area and if they are also were EC+ then OHA would allow Anton to continue with 4.0 log inactivation using chlorine. Anton said he didn’t have any other well results and that a well driller only mentioned it to him in passing; Anton wasn’t interested in this possibility either. Anton said he and his wife will just continue with their plan to close the RV park as their corrective action plan describes. Casey asked Anton to still consider using this grant opportunity to drill a new well and add more storage if needed and let us know if he reconsiders or thinks of any other ideas. |
