Details: | On November 8, 2021, I was alerted to a low chlorine residual that occurred earlier in the day. The chlorine residual had dropped to 0.15 mg/l at 11 am. Sampling at 2:30 pm showed the entry point residual was 0.18 mg/l. The disinfectant level was boosted and by about 10 pm the residual was about 0.6 mg/l. By 8:30 am on November 9th, the residual was back up to 0.96 mg/l. Calculations demonstrated that they met the required CT. At first, it was thought that the chlorine residual was less than 0.2 mg/l for a duration of 3.5 hours, however, upon further investigation and clarifying responses received 12/21/23, it turns out that the residual was less than 0.2 mg/l for more than 4 hours, resulting in a Tier 2 public notice violation for the month of November 2023. I notified Mr. Hancock about the 30-day public notice requirement and provided him with the public notice template for disinfection treatment technique violations. I requested he send me a copy of the notice along with the date that it was distributed to customers. | ||
