| Details: | Background/Problem Identification: Scott Kruger of Benton County Health reached out to the circuit rider on behalf of Jeff Cygan of Corvallis Waldorf Association for assistance regarding their corrosion control system. Assistance Provided: The circuit rider met with Jeff Cygan to survey their water system and more importantly their corrosion control. Scott Kruger had mentioned that the water system had many recent excursions with the water dropping below their mandated minimum pH of 7.0. After the initial visit, the circuit rider came back out with a calibrated pH probe to determine if the probe used by the operator was accurate. The operator’s pH equipment was indicating pH numbers 0.2 pH higher than what was shown on the circuit rider’s calibrated pH probe. The water system should take WQP samples to provide data to the circuit rider to determine the appropriate means for pH adjustment per the EPA’s OCCT.
