| Details: | Heritage Hills added chlorination a few months ago, and are now preparing plan review materials. Their engineer, Jerek Hodge at Civil West, called to make sure he was proceeding appropriately. I directed him to the disinfection "package" on our plan review webpage, and he believes he has all the materials needed for submittal. He says Heritage Hills added disinfection because they are risk-averse. Looking at their history, they had several TC+ detections in their distribution system in June and July 2012 (never at their wells), but none detected since. I suggested Jerek let them know soon that they need to measure and record the chlorine residual on the lab sheet whenever they collect a routine coliform sample (it appears there have been a couple routine samples submitted with no residual indicated, though it was after chlorination treatment was added). They also need to start recording the chlorine residual level in the distribution system at least twice a week. I will inform their direct regulator - Rick Hallmark at Coos Health and Welfare - about the treatment change. | ||
