Details: | We received notice of a complaint about low water pressure from a customer in the City of Yoncalla. I contacted Jennifer Bragg, the City Administrator with Yoncalla, and we discussed the issue. She knows there is an ongoing issue with low pressure, but when they go up the neighborhood that is in question the measured pressure is usually at or just above 20 psi (the minimum regulatory pressure allowed) at the customer's meter. Since this is an ongoing problem, it was addressed in the 2023 Master Plan and the plan is to reconfigure the system layout and install and new water treatment plant and this should make the pressure fluctuate less. The City is interested in any funding available to help with this situation and they plan on submitting for SRF funding soon. The plan for construction is to begin in 2024 and hopefully complete the improvements within 7 years. I also suggested the system consider contacting the circuit rider to help in the short term for strategies to increase the pressure in the neighborhood or decrease the fluctuation in the pressure (like changing the low level in the storage tanks) but the circuit rider said there wasn't much that could be done short of installing individual booster pumps at each house. |
