Details: | I spoke with Mike Stone regarding the current status with Well #8 (L71590) and Well #4 (COLU993), which during the April 2023 survey, both had pitless adapter casing caps that were loose/not secured at the time. (Well #4 was offline at the time of the survey) Mike says that Well #8 and #4 are currently both inactive. In the Summer, they plan to consider putting Well #8 back online. The line from that well to the Reservoir had a leak in it, which possibly contributed to recurring positive coliform results. When they shut the well off, Mike says the coliform positive results stopped reoccurring after that. Mike added that they have a second pipe that can be connected to Well #8 for distribution, if the well is to be put back online. Well #4 on the other hand, Mike says it is unlikely they will put that well back online. Mike says since that well was not much of a producer, they had inactivated the well around last Summer 2023. Mike also says that he and his team are working towards getting the new 80,000 gallon Reservoir online, which will help combine both the main Columbia Hills HOA #41-06118 system with the smaller Columbia Hills HOA – Upper #41-06211 system together into one system. Both systems operate normally at this time, but are still technically separate systems. Mike told me he will notify Columbia County Public Health once the new Reservoir is ready to go online to the system(s). Mike added that their two wells drilled in recent years, Well #11 (L132799) and Well #14 (L139460) are both active and big producers of water. |
