Details: | Background/Problem Identification: Albany Trailer and RV Park LLC has a recent (03/16/2022) Health Advisory Level (HAL) exceedance for one PFAS analyte, PFOS (Perfluorooctanesulfonic acid – 18.6 ng/L). In light of this exceedance, Gregg Baird of OHA reached out on behalf of Albany Trailer and RV Park LLC to the circuit rider for assistance. Assistance Provided: Based on the size of the water system and the problem PFAS analyte, the circuit rider recommends adding Granulated Activated Carbon (GAC) media filtration. The media filter best suited for this purpose will be the Fleck 2510 SXT or similar. The filter should be sized to operate at ½ the well pump’s capacity to allow for the full flowrate of the well pump for backwashing. For example, if the well’s pump capacity is ~40 gpm then a 20 gpm capacity filter would be used. We anticipate that the whole system should be able to be installed for approximately $7,000. Follow-Up Actions Needed: The circuit rider can assist further as needed. Technical Reports to be Prepared and Expected Timeframe: N/A |
