Details: | At the end of the day on 3/5/24, I spoke on the phone with Erica Amt about a recent total coliform positive sample. She mentioned that PGE Trojan Park is closed to the public until around Memorial Day Weekend, and the sample taps that normally would be accessible to the public during operation season are shut off. So only a well sample tap and a maintenance building (distribution) tap are turned on and inaccessible to the public. Erica wanted to know if the 4 total (repeat/triggered) samples are required, or if PGE Trojan Park could qualify as a Seasonal water system. After consulting with DWS, I called Erica back on 3/6/24. She says that during the closed months, there may be several workers there but not there every day, (less than 10 workers) in addition to only 2 active sample taps which are inaccessible to the public outside of normal operating months. Therefore, I concluded that PGE Trojan Park qualifies as a Seasonal water system, and the repeat/triggered samples are not required while the park is closed. We discussed the seasonal start-up checklist procedures as well as switching from quarterly to monthly coliform sampling during operating months to the public. Erica said she plans to speak with the Manager so that the Manager is aware of this possible re-categorization of the water system, and agrees with it. |
