| Details: | Water project eligibility for SRLF 03.15.2024 - Stephanie reached out to me informing me that the city of Powers has an application in to Merkley & Wyden’s offices requesting funds for a water project identified as a need several years ago. The project includes purchase and installation of essential equipment at the water treatment facility to ensure the system's resilience in the event of an emergency. Specifically, a backup generator to ensure continuous treatment to provide safe drinking water during outages or extended periods of time post-outage. Stephanie is inquiring about the project's eligibility for the SRF loan program, or if there are similar programs that such project would qualify for. The city is limited in resources and would not likely be able to match funds available without rising water rates. Next steps: I recommended talking to their IFA-Business Oregon person (Tawni Bean -0503-551-0957) about other funding options. Unfortunately, the SUDC grant is for small systems struggling with a health-based violation or compliance problem. Powers currently doesn't have any unresolved health-based violations. |
