Assistance Type: | OTHER REGULATORY - Prescott tank vacuuming/chlorinating status update | ||
Details: | Jim Oswald called me with City of Prescott with an update on the cleaning and disinfection of the system's 2 storage tanks and 1 contact tank. He says cleaning is taking longer waiting for the samples. Jim added that the system still has water today, as they are being supplied by the system's additional water Reservoir which is about 10,000 gallons and gravity-fed. Jim says that the company vacuuming out the tanks was an hour and a half late and the pressure washier machine didn't work. The Contact Tank's cleaning and disinfecting is done, according to Oswald, and the 2 remaining water storage tanks still need to be cleaned; the vac-truck will be vacuuming the tanks out and Oswald plans to spray the chlorination throughout the tanks' interiors, rinse it out, fill the tanks out and get a sample at each tank. I forwarded Jim the Best Management Practices (BMP) document from OHA DWS, a guidance document in the situation of a reduced water pressure event and/or service outages. I also called our County's Emergency Management Department as a notice that water unavailability at Prescott is not a problem yet, but could have the risk of becoming one soon potentially. |
