Details: Your water system recently had a lab test come back high in Nitrate. The nitrate level is greater than half of the maximum contaminant level (MCL).
MCL for Nitrate = 10 mg/L
½ MCL for nitrate = 5 mg/L

Your system is now required to test nitrate quarterly. Once there are three consecutive quarterly samples that are below the 1/2MCL, your system can return to annual nitrate testing.
