| Details: | To summarize our phone call, the process moving forward for a coliform alert response plan is as follows: • A positive coliform routine sample needs both a repeat and a source trigger sample within 10 days of the routine sample. • Unless any of the samples are positive for E. coli, continue with quarterly coliform sampling. • If any of the samples come back positive for E coli, a boil water and/or do not drink water advisory must be issued to the users of the system. • There is the option to conduct an informal level 1 investigation to help determine what might be the source of contamination. I have attached the section in the Oregon administrative rules which relates to your situation. I also shared the forms for both a level 1 investigation and a level 2 investigation. |
