| Details: | The City of Reedsport reported turbidity exceedances in monthly operating report in the months of December, January and March. On February 28th, I virtually met with the City to discuss the December and January exceedances. During the meeting, the City indicated the raw water quality spikes may have been related to the turbidimeter turning on at the same time the raw water intake pump turned on. I recommended to the City servicing the turbidimeter and inspecting the sample location to see if the meter was pulling water from the most appropriate location on the water line. On March 7th, the City serviced the meter and relocated the sample port location to lower point on the water line such that meter was less likely to suck air. Since this meter work, the City has not reported another turbidity exceedance. The City experienced another turbidity exceedance in Early March which may have been associated with preliminary service work on meter. The City has posted and distributed the necessary public notices associated with the reported exceedances. I will review turbidity sampling SOP's with the City going forward | ||
