Details: | Gingerich Farms has successfully completed their 2003 Plan Review, originally closed in 2006. There was confusion during plan review. The well log submitted was not for the well that was inspected and has been in use. After extensive searching by me, the Water Resource Division, Drinking Water Services and Gingerich Farm, no well log can be found for the drinking water well. A tag number has been assigned for the in-use source: L132442 by WRD as of December 13th, 2018. Subsequently, Pete Farrelly at DWS plan review determined that because there are no setback concerns and the well has been returning clean water samples, etc, the well can continue to be used as the primary drinking water source, but it will remain an unapproved source that has not successfully completed plan review and is not eligible for construction standard waiver. The system has been specifically asked to keep contaminants away from this well, as required by setback rules, since the unknown construction standard creates an assumed high susceptibility to contamination from the surface. The system will continue to have a deficiency on future system survey's of construction without plan review. The frequency of the surveys will remain at 5 year intervals according to DWS. |
