| Details: | Total microcystins were detected at 1.57 ug/L in Jefferson's routine every-two-week raw water sample collected Monday 6/24/24. As a result, monitoring of the raw water has been increased to weekly. An entry point (finished water) sample must be collected within 1 business day and entry point monitoring continue weekly going forward. Operator informed of schedule change this date and confirmed they will collect and ship a finished water sample Thursday 6/27/24. Update 7/15/24: OHA recommended all downstream PWSs increase chlorine residuals and review optimization guidance due to elevated levels of raw water microcytins reported by Salem for sample collected Sunday 7/14/24 (14.332 ug/L). Spoke with Jeff from Jefferson 7/16/24 and he indicated they had increased residual to 1.8 ppm and increased contact time to 120 minutes to increase disinfection effectiveness. Update 9/13/24: Jefferson qualifies to cease finished water monitoring and return to routine every-2-week raw water monitoring only. Operator notified this date. | ||
