| Details: | Total microcystins were detected at 0.77 ug/L in Lyon's routine every-two-week raw water sample collected Monday 7/1/24. As a result, monitoring of the raw water has been increased to weekly. An entry point (finished water) sample must be collected within 1 business day and entry point monitoring continue weekly going forward. Operator informed of schedule change this date and confirmed on Friday 7/5/24 that they will collect and freeze a sample Saturday 7/6/24 and ship the finished water sample Monday 7/8/24 along with the 7/8/24 raw & finished samples. Update 7/15/24: OHA recommended all downstream PWSs increase chlorine residuals and review optimization guidance due to elevated levels of raw water microcytins reported by Salem for sample collected Sunday 7/14/24 (14.332 ug/L). Spoke with John from Lyons 7/16/24 and he indicated he would increase residual to 1.6 ppm per OHA recommendation. Update 8/30/24: Lyons qualifies to stop finished water monitoring and change to weekly raw water monitoring only (weekly due to upstream Rec HABs advisory). Operator notified of monitoring schedule change this date. Update 9/5/24: upstream Rec HABs advisory lifted, raw water monitoring schedule changed to every two weeks. Operator notified of monitoring schedule change this date. | ||
