Details: | 01.13.2025 Allen provided an update on the water system improvement project. Progress is being hampered by slow responses from suppliers. The Project schedule was provided with a revised timeline. Construction is scheduled to be completed in December 2025. Next step: The due date to complete the tracer study was extended to 03.31.2026. 07.10.2024 DWS was notified that Steve Pennington passed away a couple weeks ago. The vice president of GVWA is now working on organizing all grant related information. A request for Circuit Rider assistance was made by GVWA. Help is needed with administrative tasks. Due to the circumstances, a time extension is granted (12.31.2024) to address the pending survey deficiency. 04.04.2024 Blair Hopwood with Dyer Engineer, reported to Business Oregon the revised costs for the water treatment improvement project. The cost to complete the project increased from what the Circuit Rider provided previously to Business Oregon. Below is the brief outline of the revised scope: - Demolish the oldest filter and replace media in the existing filter - Add a new filter with clarifier/roughening filter in front to reduce turbidity - Provide backwash valves with manual overrides to the filters - Replace baffles in sedimentation basin and remove all sediment build up - Provide new monitoring equipment (Chlorine, pH, Turbidity, Temp) - Provide Surge anticipation valve to prevent blow out at plant - Misc. Plumbing and Electrical work Additional SUDC funds may be needed to complete the project. 01.10.2023 The due date to complete the tracer study was extended to 01.31.2024. A time extension granted considering the new water treatment plant project. Casey believes the project is moving at a good pace, so it would not make much sense to do a tracer study now and then have to do another one once the new WTP is up and running. No further actions needed. The system will continue using 45 min contact time for daily CT calculations. |
