| Details: | I received a call from the water system operator to check if any nitrate reporting had been missed or if there were any possible violations at the water system. I checked the database and noted that nitrate monitoring should be once per year but was conducted quarterly for the past two years, and informed the operator so long as a nitrate sample is collected and reported for 2024 that the system is in compliance. I also noted that the water system was assigned monthly coliform monitoring in late 2021 due to a couple monitoring violations and that the system qualified for quarterly monitoring in early 2023 except for the lack of a site visit. I'm not sure why Clatsop County didn't pursue or request a monitoring reduction, but I changed the coliform schedule to once every quarter in anticipation of a sanitary survey in 2024 and based upon more than two years of monthly coliform reporting without any violations. |
