| Details: | Chris, myself and other residents from RHI took part in a video conference to discuss the MCL letter I mailed. During the meeting we agreed: RHI have already issued public notice to residents and water users and notified them about E. coli in the drinking water; Chris will forward a copy of the notice to Jaime Craig and OHA for agency records; RHI was already visited by a couple consultants and they have recommended construction of new spring/water source facilities because the current water collection facilities do not exclude surface water or would be classified as under the influence of surface water; RHI plans to have additional contractors inspect the water facilities and provide bids and construction schedules to reconstruct the sources so they exclude surface water as much as possible; RHI will submit an action plan to Jaime and OHA identifying the steps and schedule RHI will follow to have the spring facilities replaced; the water system serves 12 cabins with permanent residents and then 21 other cabins where people visit for vacation or other temporary reasons, RHI will track the number of people in the cabins and notify Jaime if there are ever 15 or more cabins with permanent residents or 25 or more people drinking the water for 60 days or more. I referred RHI to Kim Anderson with Rural Community Assistance Corporation and Adam DeSemple at OHA in case either of them can connect RHI with financial or technical assistance opportunities. |
