Reasons: | Other |
||
Details: | PFAS sampling conducted as part of the fifth round of the Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring Rule (UCMR5) showed PFOS at 5.2 ppt, PFHxS at 7.3 ppt, and PFBS at 3 ppt at entry point A (EP-A) for Well #2 (NEWPORT PARK) for a sample collected on 11/21/23. Sampling also showed PFOS at 4.5 ppt, PFHxS at 7.5 ppt, and PFBS at 7.5 ppt at entry point C (EP-C) for Well #5 (HARPER RD) for a sample collected on 2/20/24. The PFOS results from both EPs exceed EPA's new PFOS MCL of 4.0 ppt so system will likely need to take corrective action to comply with MCL by 2029. A letter was mailed and emailed to the water system on 6/18/24 which included information on how the results compare to the new MCLs, requirements to notify customers of availability of results and report detections in the annual consumer confidence report to customers, and information on Emerging Contaminant funding available to address PFAS. |
