| Details: | System staff notified DWS that there is a wildfire near the system's treatment plant. While operations remain unaffected at this time, they are preparing for potential impacts. In the event of a plant shutdown, a boil water advisory will be issued. Update 8/9/24: The plant is now in a Level 3 Evacuation Zone, and future access is uncertain, with staff safety as a priority. The system is considering taking CT measurements from a safer location further within the distribution system, outside the evacuation zone, rather than at the designated 1st user location. DWS staff have advised them to measure as close to the 1st user within the DIST, or the safest location downstream, as possible. Update 8/12/24: DWS was informed favorable conditions allowed for a reduction in evacuation protocols/range. Staff were able to safely obtain readings and collect samples at the treatment plant, allowing routine reporting and monitoring activities to remain uninterrupted. |
