Details: I reminded Kim that it had been over 90 days since the last boil notice had been circulated. She will make up and distribute a new one. She also confirmed that there was still no filtration or disinfection treatment on the water system side of things (most homes have individual filters and often UV units at their households). I will update the database to reflect that.

As for their progress:
  • Kim sent out info that the operator at Camp Myrtlewood was willing to show them around their slow sand filtration system. No resident responded.
  • One resident had taken an interest in the water system and was going to be the next Co-Op president, but moved away after conflicts with the current president.
  • Kim says the residents all say they need to do something, but do not participate in making calls or exploring options.

I reiterated the resources I know of at this time:
  • OAWU, who sent Heath Cokeley there one time in 2017 to look at their source, etc. With OAWU's staff size, I expect they move on to the next one if they do not continue to hear from a water system, so she should check back with them;
  • Rob Henry of HBH Engineering, who agreed months ago to talk to them on the phone about treatment options for a small surface water system with high iron like theirs, off the clock;
  • And I mentioned to Kim that DWS has hired a new technical staff person whose job it will be to work with struggling small systems. They might hear from him once he starts the job.
