Details: | Joe, I’m looking at 4 points and I apologize if I missed an email from you saying “it is fixed.” You want to show 1, 2 and 3 are done by September 2, 2024. 1. Does the system operator keep the chlorine residual at least 0.2 ppm through the system and documentation shows “control” rather than random chlorine levels over the past several weeks? 2. Is there a written Operation & Maintenance manual convenient for reference on premises with adequate directions for either an operator with experience or an operator certified for the first time? (I think it will be helpful for it to line out what home sites need arsenic sampling in 2024 and in 2025 and in 2026 – NOTE, THAT THIS IS A DIFFERENT SAMPLING REQUIREMENT THAN THE ARSENIC VIOLATION NOTED BELOW). 3. Take the steps to get a certified operator. Requirements and details for Training/Testing/Certification are found here: https://www.oregon.gov/oha/PH/HealthyEnvironments/DrinkingWater/OperatorCertification/SmallWaterSystems/Pages/index.aspx 4. A violation notice (yellow post card) was recently mailed for two Mt Terrace violations: a. DWS did not receive documentation that the Consumer Confidence Report requirements for 2023 were satisfied. This documentation was due by July 1, 2024. If you’ve already submitted this info I suggest submitting it to DWS again. b. Quarterly arsenic samples are required through 2024 at home #25. DWS did not receive sample results for the April-May-June quarter. If you have these sample results submit to DWS now. Otherwise reinstitute quarterly sampling plus a sample for the first quarter of 2025. |
