Details: | Region 2 Tech support Shawn Stevenson and Scott Kruger with Benton County met with three members of the Jackson Creek Water Association to discuss the Ph levels of recent WQP tests due to a copper exceedance in 2021, lead and copper test sites and entry point testing. We asked that a hose bib be placed on the piping where the finished water exits to the storage tanks as an entry point sampling location. The current location seemed to be too close the chlorine injection site and could be giving an inaccurate reading. The water system was instructed to contact the state circuit rider for assistance, to install a sample tap at the entry point location prior to storage, and collect comparative pH sample readings at the entry point to verify pH readings and calibration of their pH meter. The water system will be required to collect water quality parameters during this last quarter of 2024 when collecting lead and copper tap samples. PH adjustment treatment in addition to orthophosphate may be required if a pH of 7.0 or greater cannot be maintained. |
