| Details: | I called and spoke with Roger Hurley with an update containing advice from Pete from Oregon DWS, who advised that the water system get a colorimeter or test strips; some way to measure chlorine levels, and to flush the well until there is essentially zero chlorine and then take the coliform water sample to determine if the boil notice may be listed. The other side of that advice was also to take careful notes on how quickly the well recharges to predict water outages in advance to help warn the community hopefully before it happens. Roger says he believes the water supply is back to where it should be since the system's electronic components were repaired. Roger's wife added that the pipe and pump with the well are in the process of being replaced. Roger added that he should get a test kit for chlorine and plans to ask the maintenance person about that. I provided Roger the Oregon DWS Circuit Rider Program phone number for assistance with drinking water system operations, and also referred him to the Financial Assistance program from DWS listed on the 6 brochures I dropped off at the system's office. Roger said he will call the DWS resources on Monday. |
