Details: | My coworker Tan and I met with Justin McMullen, conducting a site visit of the water system to assess the Corrosion Control Treatment system's current physical state, and evaluate last Survey's previous deficiencies as well. Although the corrosion control pump shows some residue of caustic soda on the outside of the pump, the tube from the pump to the injection point in the system appears to have been all cleared of the caustic soda blockage that was previously present. Justin showed us the (now removed) previous injection point check valve during the clog/blockage period, which appeared to be physically warped in a way that prevented effective pH adjustment. This check valve was replaced with a new injection point check valve for the corrosion control treatment system, showing no visible signs of blockage or malfunction at the time of the visit. Justin says this treatment system was fixed about 4 months ago, possibly in June. The former pressure tank (to be used as a burn barrel) that was lying around within 100 feet of the well during the 2022 survey has been removed, and the deficiency is listed as corrected. We reviewed the pH readings Justin had written down on forms dated after March 2024. I provided Justin the Oregon DWS (DWP DMCE) email address to forward these results to, moving forward. We discussed how pH readings from the Entry Point are required to be recorded at least once every 14 days, and pH readings from Distribution are required every 6 months. Justin also said Lead and Copper samples were collected on September 30th, and we are awaiting the lab's results. The system still has yet to complete and submit the following documents: Operation & Maintenance Manual, Annual Summary Report, Cross Connection Ordinance/ Enabling Authority, and Consumer Confidence Report. |
