Details:	Gates' operator notified DWS of a lead action level exceedance during their routine lead and copper monitoring schedule. Sample was taken on 8/3/24 and the result is 0.0484 mg/L. Operator said the sample was taken at his private residence and that he recently replaced his plumbing with fixtures made in China. Amy Word advised to resample for confirmation. DWS went through the LCR sample invalidation procedure and found that this sample is not eligible for invalidation. Next steps for the system: - add lead information to the next water bill for customers. - send out public education by 12/10/24. - review of corrosion control treatment and corrections by 12/31/24. - lead and copper samples from each EP by 3/31/25. - 2, 6-month rounds of lead and copper tap monitoring at 10 sample sites (Jan-June 2025, July-Dec, 2025) - two rounds of WQP monitoring every 2 weeks at each routine coliform sample tap. Sent the operator the customer notification templates and let him know to send me a copy once those have been sent out. 12/16/24 update: Gates' operator sent the lead and copper public notice copy and certification form to DWS on 12/11/24. The 2, 6-month rounds of lead and copper sampling has been updated to begin January 2025, and the second round will begin July 2025. The operator also reviewed the corrosion control treatment and found that there are no issues with the equipment or treatment. We reviewed the lead and copper sampling procedures and found that the operator took an incorrect sample at his house which resulted in the lead AL exceedance at his home.
