| Details: | I e-mailed Eric Bufkin about an alert generated on 11/28/18 thinking we had previously spoken about it, which we hadn't. The alert was for a single DBP sample taken 11/21/18 that had an HAA5 result of 0.0699 mg/l (just above the 0.060 mg/l MCL). This did not result in an MCL or OEL exceedance. This was a typical level based on historical results attributable to a seasonal variation in source water quality, which improves after November. Astoria has implemented multiple measures to control DBP formation over the past 10 years including covering uncovered finished water reservoirs, re-configuring sources, and re-sanding slow sand filters, which has resulted in overall reductions in DBP formation. | ||
