Details: | Round 2 of LT2 E Coli source monitoring schedule 01.02.2025-I reached out to Greg to get an update on the status of the LT2 monitoring that was due in 2024. Greg informed me that the water system has a contract with Grant Pass lab to manage all chemical and bacteriological monitoring and reporting requirements. It is unclear to him at this time why the LT2 samples were not collected. To address this issue, Greg will contact the lab to arrange for LT2 sample collection according to the LT2 rule requirements during the 2025 operational period. The operating period has been updated in Data Online to May 5 through November 15. Next step: Coordinate with the operator to schedule E. coli sample collection dates within the 2025 operating period (May 5 - November 15). A draft calendar for the 2025 season was sent via email. The operator was also asked to confirm the lab they plan to use for the LT2 sampling. If the system is planning to use Grants Pass lab, the operator is advised to provide an update on their recertification status. I found an old email thread where Gregg stated that Grants Pass Lab was going to recertify for the LT2 testing. It's possible the lab was unable to do so in 2024, which may explain the lack of LT2 sampling last year. 07.18.2023-Greg has confirmed that the system has opted to do their round 2 of LT2 monitoring next year. Next steps: The system will start their R2 LT2 E. Coli sampling in May 2024 through October 2024, following the approved sampling plan. A request was sent to DMCE to update Data Online with their sampling schedule. No further actions needed at this time. |
