Details: | On January 23, 2025, I was notified by Sarah Schwab that Fairsing Vineyard had installed a Viqua Arros 22 UV light that is NSF/ANSI 55 (system also has sample taps prior to and after the UV unit). I did some research on the unit installed and determined that the unit is an NSF/ANSI 55 Class B UV unit. I let Sarah know that the UV unit was fine if installed as secondary treatment, but that if the UV was installed because it was required to address persistent coliform, then it would need to be NSF-55 Class A and it would need to go through plan review ($248 plan review fee for a transient non-community system). She responded that it was not required treatment. The treatment code of Z720 was used to add the UV to the system's list of treatment and they were instructed to begin annual source assessment monitoring from a raw water sample tap prior to UV and that triggered source sampling would be needed should distribution system samples be positive for coliform bacteria. Sarah also said she would remind them that they had not completed the plan review for the well (granted Conditional Approval on 4-8-24 under plan review no. 151-2023) and let them know to follow up with me regarding the conditions needed for Final Approval. |
